Yves Saint Laurent has launched the ultimate hybrid lip product - Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres. The revolutionary new Glossy Stains offer the perfect partnership of high impact glossy shine and vibrant, long lasting colour. Housed in a luxurious black and gold rectangular tube, the angled doe-shaped applicator with a tapered tip allows for precise lining and filling of the lips to create the perfect pout.
I was expecting a gentle wash of colour but I was pleasantly surprised to find the formula to be intensely pigmented with a highly glossy yet non-sticky finish. I love this shade (no.7 Corail Aquatique), a soft peachy coral which is perfect for spring. The range includes 20 different shades, so whether you are wanting a feminine pink or a glamourous red, there's bound to be a colour to suit.
The YSL Glossy Stains certainly live up to their claims of being an ambiguous lip product which embodies lipstick, lipgloss and lip stain. I think they're a great product for someone who loves gloss but wants something more long lasting. They're also a great alternative to lip stains which can be quite drying on the lips.
